I was back home on holiday and had a simple thought in mind “I want to take my parents somewhere.” Not a long vacation, not an exhausting itinerary  just a short international trip that would give them comfort, safety, great food, and memorable experiences. Since I had limited leaves and needed to fly back to the UK soon, time was my biggest constraint. I considered a few destinations, but honestly, nothing excited me enough. That’s when Singapore came into the picture. Thanks to my cousin brother, who deserves full credit here, the hotels, tours, and local arrangements were all booked seamlessly. My only responsibility? Booking the flights. Sometimes, the best trips happen when you let go and trust the process. 

Journey Begins from Bangalore to Singapore, our flight was early morning, which meant starting the journey the previous night. We traveled to Bangalore Airport, completed domestic formalities, and then transferred to the international terminal, where we had to spend the entire night. Thankfully, we had international lounge access, which made a huge difference. Comfortable seating, warm food, and a calm environment turned a potentially tiring wait into a relaxed prelude to the trip. Soon enough, it was boarding time, and just like that, we were flying toward Singapore Changi Airport, ranked as the best airport in the world and I was about to find out why. Having traveled internationally multiple times, I was mentally prepared for long immigration queues  standing for an hour, documents in hand, slowly inching forward. What happened next completely surprised me. There was no line. Singapore’s immigration process was fully automated. I scanned my passport, took a photo, and within less than two minutes, the process was done. No stamps, no questions, no stress.
